GB Phone Swap

Welcome to the Great British Phone Swap! (working title)

We are looking for parents and children who have crazy phone habits to take part in a brand-new social experiment for Channel 4 in partnership with a major supermarket.

Do you have hours and hours of relentless screentime? Is your child’s daily TikTok usage well above the weekly average? Are you starting to feel a disconnect from your child’s world? Or simply looking to start 2025 with healthier digital habits for the family?

We are looking for a parent and their child (between 13 and 16 years of age*) to swap phones over 48-hours to explore each other digital worlds. You and your child will swap digital lives from all social media apps to e-mailing apps and even the dreaded weekly shop app – no digital stone will be left unturned. You will not be swapping actual phones, it will be a swap of phone habits!

If you want a deeper understanding of you and your child’s digital worlds, and a chance to take part in an immersive experiment, we’d love to hear from you.

Please complete the application form in as much detail as possible making sure to include a recent picture of you and your child, and short video clip of you both. Once you’ve completed your application it will be looked over by a member of the casting team who may get in touch to discuss the next steps in the application process, if your application is successful.

*Applicants can be 12 years old at the time of application, as long as they will have reached 13 years by 15^th March 2025.

HOW TO COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION FORM

This application must be completed by the parent or legal guardian of the child you are applying to take part in the programme with.

Before you start to fill out the form we would like to explain that the information you provide in this form on behalf of yourself and your child will be used by us, Banijay UK Productions Limited t/a Electric Robin, to select potential contributors for the “The Great British Phone Swap" and (if you and your child are selected), in the production, broadcast and exploitation of the “Great British Phone Swap". Full details about how your information in this form will be used are in our Contributor Privacy Notice and we have some Terms and Conditions which also apply so please read these too.

ELIGIBILITY

Please answer the following eligibility questions. If you are not able to meet all of the eligibility criteria, you will be unable to continue with your application.

I am 18 years of age or over and am the parent/legal guardian of the child applicant and confirm that I am completing this form on my child’s behalf.
My child will be between 13 and 16 years of age at the time of filming.
I and my child have the right to reside or lawfully reside in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
We will be available to take part in the filming of the programme on one of the weekends of March 2025 & April 2025. Please note you will only be required to film on one weekend in March and April, however you should ensure to keep all the weekends free until we have confirmed filming dates.
