The Game Of Wool

Thank you applying to be on the first series of The Game of Wool (working title) - a brand-new competition series for Channel 4 aimed at finding our first knitting champion. This series celebrates the joy and artistry of knitting and we want you to be part of the fun!

Our closing date for applications is MIDNIGHT Sunday 5^th January 2025, but please apply as early as possible to give yourself enough time to complete your application.

The application form is quite long because we want to get to know you and your passion for knitting, so here are some tips on how best to fill it in:

* Eligibility Check: Begin by reading the Rules of Entry to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.

* Share Your Passion: We want to hear about your enthusiasm for knitting. Provide as much information in the application form as you can about yourself, your creations and the skills you used to create them. If you are not confident in your your writing skills don’t worry – share your passion with fewer words and more photos and videos.

* Honesty About Skills: While we want to know what you excel at, we’re also keen to learn about the areas where you lack experience too. Lack of experience in some areas will not necessarily exclude you. Please be honest but also don’t be shy - it all helps us understand your skill as a knitter.

* Knitting & crocheting: The challenges in this competition will involve both hand knitting and crocheting. Successful applicants must have a reasonable level of skill at both disciplines or, are able to pick up skills quickly. The application form refers to ‘knitting’ as an umbrella term.

* Attach Photos: Don’t forget to include a photo of yourself and photos or videos of your creations.

* Submit Early: Try to submit your application as soon as possible, we want to have as much time as possible to look at your creations and hear your story.

All applications submitted by the deadline will be reviewed. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered. We are unable to respond to each application individually or address specific inquiries about them.

You will receive a call from a member of our production team if we would like to take your application form further and some applicants will be invited to an audition. If you have not heard from us by 13^th January 2025 it means that your application has not been successful on this occasion.
